Red Lip Month: Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in The Redder The Better

So it's February (on Blogger it's still January 31st but in the UK it's the 1st Feb '14 lol), the month that contains the dreaded day of Valentines. Now, because I'm the least romantic person on the planet I won't be blogging about anything to do with Valentines Day. Instead I'll be uploading every week for the whole month to show you all my 7 most favourite red lip colours (Yup, the colour red is the closest I'm going to get to blogging about Valentines Day lol).
Yes, I have mentioned this lip colour in a previous blog, but I feel it deserves a blog all of it's own.
This is a balm/stain of the most gorgeous colour that moisturises with high pigmentation and leaves the most beautiful red stain on the lips so it wears off evenly and slowly.
It has been my go-to red lip colour of the winter. It glides on smoothly, smells of vanilla (yum!) and costs around £6.50 so it definitely won't be breaking the bank. It's light, non-sticky formula leaves my lips feeling pampered and soft and it's a great neutral red that will suit lots of skin tones too, so if you're into red lips... Then you might want to give this little beauty a go :)

Seventeen Super Lash Mascara Review

So I went ahead and bought this mascara in Boots today. I am a mascara addict. It's sick. I should stop... But I can't! This little beauty will put us buyers in the UK back £6.99.
On the tube it states: "give lashes SUPER hero status with our amazing SUPER fibre lengthening mascara and volumising booster brush. Lashes look longer and thicker for instant OH WOW... KAPOW!!"

Yeah? Let's put it to the test!
The wand is curved outwards in the middle... And the shade is Blackest Black... Ok, cool - let's get cracking!
My bare, uncurled lashes. I can see you squinting... They're there, don't be fooled by the nothingness around my eyes!
One coat of this mascara. Lashes are looking perkier (and visible, hooray!)
Coat two. The fibres in this mascara are starting to hold on and extend my lashes a little, while adding some volume...
Coat three. As you can see my eyelashes are definitely longer but the fibres are making my eyelashes look a bit fluffy at the ends, ha ha!
And now a picture of both of my eyes for the extra scare-factor.

My thoughts/First Impression: I really like this mascara. It applies really well and it makes my unimpressive lashes look thicker and longer. From a distance of around 12-18 inches my lashes look voluminous and long, not fluffy or clumpy. I think for a more natural look I'd wear two coats on curled lashes for extra oomph.
Would I recommend?: Yes, it's a great little two-in-one mascara and really affordable at just seven quid. Plus it comes in brown/black for those guys 'n' gals that don't want to use black mascara.
Would I repurchase?: Hell yeah! Love  this little beauty!

Revlon Lip Butter in Cotton Candy

Don'tcha just love Revlon for bringing out these bad boys? I am in love!

I've never been brave enough to wear baby pinks, but I bit the bullet and tried it on...

And I've got to say I love how sheer this is. It's super pretty and feminine too, and really moisturising, so definitely great for the cold, dry months. This colour is so sweet I can wear it with all makeup looks!

Maybelline Diamond Glow Purple Drama

Ok so it's just a quick swatch blog today! I bought this in Superdrug as a part of my retail therapy. No, it hasn't made my back feel any better but it makes my eyes happier...
This is what the quad looks like  (lid closed)
Palette with open lid. As you can see it comes with a double ended applicator sponge...
And swatches of the colours on the back of my hand. The pigmentation is quite sheer when applied, but each have a finely ground glitter particles in them, making them very reflective and shimmery. This is a quad that you can reach for when you want that quick, shimmery feminine look. Pair these with a small amount of eyeliner and some mascara and you're ready to hit the town!

Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara Review

Currently Boots are doing an offer on these mascaras - two for £10! Bargain! Of course I snapped up two. Ok, four. Alright, alright! Six! I'm sorry, but how often do bargains like that come along? These mascaras retail for £10.99 each normally!
So I of course had to test these beauties out!
The wand looks like Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara wand, good stuff...
My bare, curled lashes...
After one coat, my lashes kept their curl and look naturally defined...
A second coat. Lashes remain curled, plus a little volume and more definition...
A third coat, plus a coat on my lower lashes. Perhaps a coat too many, I'm not too sure. I definitely wouldn't put four coats on, as it would look too spidery.

My thoughts: I really like this mascara. It's not too wet, the brush is great for keeping your lashes separated for definition and the formula can be layered for volume. I was expecting a little more volume from this mascara, but I'm not complaining at all.

Would I repurchase?: Yes, most definitely - if I hadn't bought another 5... *shameface*

Would I recommend?: For the price it's currently selling at, why not give it a try? It might surprise you
