MAC Kinky Boots Collection

So! This is my second try at blogging today... My cat deleted my last attempt with just one paw. I lost all my pictures, words, everything. So, im going to start again!

Kinky Boots is based on a true story of a man whose shoe making business is going under, so he ends up making kinky boots that are made just for men. Apparently this MAC collection is based on the Broadway play, which I've never seen (but I did watch the film when it came out around 10yrs ago, and I really enjoyed it).
Kinky Lipstick:

Kinky Lipglass:
The last picture is the lipglass applied over the lipstick.

The lipstick is a blue based red matte, smoother/easier to apply than other, older formula mattes I own, and it's not quite as drying as them either. The lipglass is a sheer red with tiny flecks of gold glitter. It looks beautiful on its own or on top of the lipstick (it gives it an attractive, darker, glittery finish).

My thoughts: MAC already has some very famous blue-based red lipsticks (Ruby Woo and Russian Red being amongst the favourites), so this lipstick doesn't really stand out but it definitely holds it own with pigmentation and staying power. The lipglass, however, is more of a favourite with me. The base colour has just enough pigment to make my colourless lips look rosy (when applied on its own) and the glitter makes my lips sparkle. Another plus is that when the gloss wears away, the glitter remains on the lips, which I personally like a lot.

Have you got the Kinky Boots Collection?
Any collections you absolutely love that I need to know about? Please let me know!

Review: Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick in "26 Beige Démocrachic"

So as you all know I'm such a daredevil when it comes to lip colours (hahaha yeah, right), so when I saw this lip colour, it had to be mine.
I love nudes, seriously, if I had to wear nothing but nude lip colours for the rest of my life, I'd die happy. And this lipstick doesn't let me down in any way.
It applies as a sheer, shimmery, brown-pink nude with a glossy, sparkly sheen . It wears smoothly and comfortably without any unpleasant side effects like being drying. It is very similar to the Revlon Lip Butters; light on the lips, feels moisturising and even good for wearing at cold temperatures like 2 degrees centigrade (I work in this temperature all year round).

Any moisturising lipsticks/glosses/balms that you recommended for everyday that stand up to winter-like temps?

Maybelline Coloursensational Nude Lipstick in 725 Tantalizing Taupe

My super favourite colour on my lips have to be nudes. A nude lip goes with everything; got heavy smokey eye makeup going on? Nude lips are your eyes' best friend. Doing the no-makeup-makeup look? Nude lips sure do help! Worried that your lip and eyes are all mismatched? Nudes are there to take the stress away! Basically they take the worry out of your day to day makeup. Yes, they may be boring and predictable, but they're handy and reliable!
So I knew that this lippie simply had to join the ranks of my other nude lipsticks such as my MAC Half 'n' Half and MAC Modesty. But this lipstick has the added benefit of being drugstore, so it doesn't have a £15 price tag, it's just under half that, at a more purse-friendly £6.99.
On me it's a creamy, moisturising pinky brown, easy to apply and has a slightly sweet scent. This will be a definite go-to colour for me for the foreseeable future.

Do you wear nude lips? Love or hate? Any lip colour suggestions? Xx

MAC Dangerous Lipstick

Yes, yes, I know, I've already done blogs on red lipsticks, but it is MAC after all! How could I pass up this incredible orange based lipstick?
Ok, so it looks a little darker in this pic than in real life, but it is amazing...
This is what it looks like on my lips and how it looks against my fakely-tanned, light-medium complexion (NC25/NC30). I paired it with a ProLongwear pencil by MAC called 'What a Blast'.
So retro, so matte! This is a super easy go-to lip colour, especially if you're in a rush - it takes you from Mehhh to Fab in two minutes flat. The power of red lipstick!
This is a great lipstick for anyone loving orange based, matte red colours that doesn't mind being noticed.
Red-dy to get Dangerous?

Red Lip Month: Maybelline SuperStay 14hr Lipstick 540 Ravishing Rouge

Another long lasting red lip colour! Yes, I'm sorry, but the idea of reapplying red lippie every couple/few hours to make sure my lippie still looks good is such a hassle! Yep, lazy. Got it in one!
This little beauty is around £7 in the UK (feel free to correct me about the price), and this particular colour definitely leans towards blue toned but not so much that it washes out you warmer toned gals and guys. It applies pretty well and smells of scrummy sweets, and dries to a matte finish. It does have minuscule glitter particles to give your lips a subtle, almost-there shimmer to stop it from looking too matte.
I won't say that this lasts me 14hrs (seriously, I think the whole 24/14hr thing is over exaggerated) but it does last a good 4-5hrs before it starts to wear away from the inner parts of my lips. This can also be a little drying so I don't wear it as often as the others. Once it's dried it does transfer, but the transferring is minimal. All in all not a bad lippie.

Red Lip Month: Maybelline SuperStay 24 Color 510 Red Passion

I love long lasting red lips! I love non-transferring colour, being able to eat, drink and chatter away without reapplying my lippie and feeling confident for hours on end.
This little beauty is my favourite long-wearing lip colour. You use the coloured wand to apply a thin yet quite opaque layer over your lips, let it dry for 1-2 minutes, then apply the white balm end that gives your lips that just-applied, fresh-as-a-daisy shine that I love so much.
This colour is quite neutral so will wear with both pale and warm skin colours quite well without making your skin look washed out.
The one thing I must say is that the balm end runs out pretty quickly due to reapplying it frequently, so buying an extra balm is advisable.
It's a great price and currently in the UK there's a 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug so nip on over, see if there's anything you like :P

Red Lip Month: L'Oreal Color Riche Scarlett Creme

Yes, I love red lips! Let's continue our celebration of red lips this February!
This is a lovely richly pigmented lipstick, satiny finish and doesn't bleed.
Like a lot of red lipsticks it does transfer relatively easily but it's longevity is impressive too. A great lippie to take around and about for smooth, everyday use.
